Alex Solis unmasks The Secret Identities of Pop Culture Icons
Alex Solis is back again with another clever series of graphic art - the most iconic pop culture figures mashup titled “Icons Unmasked”. The Chicago based artist became a popular name when his series Chunkies depicting obese sports figures became viral on the internet. Alex has also published other works exhibiting his quirky nature and love of pop culture. He uses his passion and understanding of these famous identities and give them a makeover, either through a sublime message about bad food habits, or with an evident jab at the world by illustrating some hilarious satirical representations.
“Icons Unmasked” is a witty series of character mashup paintings highlighting famous pop culture figures. The artist’s good eye for catching pun in his caricatures makes these cartoons with an alias more fun; such as the notorious politician Donald Trump actually being none other than the power hungry Mr.Burns, and if you were on a quest for finding Nemo, you’ll end up realizing you were looking for Waldo instead.
His humorous depictions of famous cartoons impersonating each other are created to expose some uncanny qualities which they share with each other - in personality, role and look. Alex Solis has turned the obvious exciting with his art and his other similar series have been received positively.
